The Day My Strategy Failed Me
An effective entrepreneur was preparing for the presentation of his life. Everything was perfect as he had developed an effective strategy, had selected the right slides, numbers, and calculations. Nevertheless, on the day of presentation, someone asked him a tricky question, which he could not answer. “Why are you doing all this?” That was the day when he understood that he chose the wrong strategy to achieve success as he did not have the right vision and mission; in other words, he was doing the wrong thing and needed to invest more effort into working on himself.
He needed to unlock himself to invest more effort in his emotional intelligence, vision, mission, and communication to create his high-performance business by developing his spiritual and mental powers. He needed to work on the right thing and not on the wrong one. Thus, he managed to get exponential results for his business in only two years. He became an effective public speaker with an unbelievable value proposition, networked systematically and consistently, and, in general, his results spoke for themselves.
Lessons Learned by the Entrepreneur
The lessons learned by the entrepreneur who failed at his business plan presentation comprise:
- How much you invest in yourself determines how much you can gain from your business;
- The higher is your vision and mission, the higher is your chance for success;
- The broader is your confidence in your skills, the more successful you will be;
- Skills and competencies can take you only so far, while your character determines where you will be;
- It is required for a leader to invest time and effort in development to achieve excellence.
Since information, technologies, and artificial intelligence become critical success factors, there is no other choice but to invest in human capital, namely, to train and educate employees to make them more competitive and productive. It is also essential to invest in personal development to become a better leader. Still, successful professionals and leaders fail to deliver, underperform, or fail at all due to their lack of strategic thinking, as they are controlled by their emotions rather than being masters of them, due to their inadequate personal development, and due to their inability to communicate their vision and mission clearly and convincingly. It is vital to invest in personal development as it is the best guarantee that the stronger you are, the stronger protection for the business you are.
